SCHEDULE: Mon Jan 04, 2016 – Sun Feb 14, 2016
LOCATION: 1510 S. Grant St., Denver,CO 80210
Speak for the trees! Become an advocate of Denver’s urban forest…
Help Denver Digs Trees connect with as many people as possible! Work at your own time and pace, leaving doorhangers to let people know about this wonderful opportunity for free and low-cost trees . There’s no knocking on doors. You can do as much or as little of a neighborhood as you’d like. It’s easy and fun!
You can even just pick up some doorhangers for your friends and neighbors.
These trees will grow to cool our neighborhoods, help us conserve energy, filter air pollution, provide habitat for wildlife, beautify our neighborhoods, and absorb and store greenhouse gases!
Applications are due February 15, so we need to spread the word now.
You’ll help the environment and our local community by letting people know about this wonderful opportunity to get free and low-cost trees. It’s also a great way to get to know many of Denver’s neighborhoods and enjoy the outdoors. To get involved, contact Leah either via email: firstname.lastname@example.org (or) via phone: 303.722.6262.
Thanks for your valuable support of the Denver urban forest!
MISSION STATEMENT: The Park People works to preserve, enhance and advocate for Denver’s parks, recreation resources, open space and urban forest.
The Park People are a private, non-profit organization that was founded in Denver in 1969. Since that time, we have devoted ourselves to improving the quality of life for communities throughout Denver by protecting and enhancing our green spaces and urban trees.
They primarily engage volunteers through our Denver Digs Trees program, which provides free and affordable trees to Denver residents. We also cultivate knowledgeable and skilled volunteers through our Community Forester program, which engages volunteers in planting and stewarding the city forest.
With a small staff of 2.5, we are blessed to have an amazing team of dedicated and passionate volunteers who make our work possible and welcome you to join us!
