Linda 605 reg (2)Empowered Partnerships is proud to have Linda Rinehart, a leading and award-winning Mental Health Speaker and Advocate, speak at the 1st Annual Mental Health Art Benefit! This event will bring together mental health professionals of all varieties, advocates, patients and #iamstigmafree supporters from all around the Denver area for a night of art, entertainment, good times, good crowd and fundraising for a good cause!

First diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder in 1984 at age 24, Linda’s life changed dramatically when she was forced into medical retirement at age 35. After two dark years in a deep major depression and an attempt to take her own life, she found a renewed life purpose by speaking out on mental health issues and serving others in a variety of volunteer capacities. Through her energetic and enthusiastic speaking style, Linda’s passion and mission is to inspire, empower and help others living with a mental disorder as well as family and friends in support networks. As an ardent advocate, Linda is actively involved in bringing more awareness to the need for better mental health care and treatment in Colorado and throughout the U.S.

Linda, the 2015 recipient of the Peer of the Year Award from Mental Health America of Colorado, frequently serves as a speaker for “In Our Own Voice,” a nationally-acclaimed educational program sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) designed to help the public understand the realities of persons living with mental illness and to reduce the stigma all too often associated with mental illness. She earned the Distinguished Toastmaster award designation from Toastmasters International and currently serves as the Behavioral Health Subject Matter Expert for the Colorado League of Women Voters Legislative Action Committee.

Linda lives with her wonderfully supportive spouse Dori in the metro Denver area.
